Consolea Rubescens Card

Consolea rubescens, also known as Consolea moniliformis subsp. rubescens or Opuntia rubescens, is a tree-like, almost spineless cactus with a cylindrical trunk and flattened, spreading or descending branches with lateral paddles. It can grow up to 20 feet (6 m) tall. The trunk can reach up to 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter and has reddish or grayish-brown, peeling bark. The paddles can be lance-shaped, oblong, or elliptic, have wavy margins, and can measure up to 20 inches (50 cm) long. They look like they have tire tracks across them, hence the common name "Road Kill Cactus.

Light

  • Placement: Put your cactus near a south- or west-facing window where it can get the most natural sunshine.
  • Acclimation: Introduce it to strong direct sun slowly over a few weeks so the pads do not burn or scorch.
  • Grow Lights: Use bright artificial plant lights if your home lacks a sunny window.

Wateirng

  • Pour water directly onto the soil at the base until it runs out of the pot's drainage holes. Never let the pot sit in standing water.
  • Check for Thirst: Look for slight wrinkling on the flat paddles or use a wooden chopstick pushed deep into the soil to confirm it is bone dry before giving it another drink
  • Water every 2 to 3 weeks during the warm spring and summer growing seasons, and reduce watering to about once a month or less during winter dormancy.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
